Trained as a clinical social worker and substance abuse counselor, Mitch Barron is the Director of Centerpoint Adolescent Treatment Services, the largest provider of "integrated adolescent treatment” in Northwestern Vermont. In this role, he has been responsible for insuring the highest-quality of services and supports to meet the mental health, substance abuse, and special education needs of Vermont teens and their families. Mitch has been a practicing clinician, clinical supervisor, and administrator for the past 18 years. He trains and consults regionally and nationally on a variety of topics related to adolescent mental health and addiction. He also serves as adjunct faculty in the University of Vermont’s Counseling Program.
Mitch lives with his wife and son in Hinesburg.

Larry Walters of Burlington is vitally interested in issues regarding community, young people, and substance abuse. He is engaged in a number of community, child/adolescent, and substance abuse initiatives. Larry's involvement includes:

Brian entered the teaching profession because he enjoyed working with people and believed in the transformative power of education to positively affect individuals and, by extension, society. After graduating from Middlebury College with an English degree and a teaching license, his first position was in Japan and he later served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Kenya. Upon returning to the USA, Brian worked at Burlington High School, first as an ELL teacher and later as an English teacher for over sixteen years. During that time, he was lead teacher for the English Department, yearbook adviser, Student Council adviser, and Outing Club adviser. After earning a masters in Educational Leadership at the University of Vermont, Brian became the assistant principal at BHS where he worked to promote technology, rehabilitate facilities, foster strong school and community relations, and serve as the administrator for the art, music, science, and physical education departments. Currently, Brian is honored to be the interim principal at the Integrated Arts Academy

Mariah Sanderson has lived in Vermont all her life and in Burlington for 8 years. She graduated from the University of Vermont in 2000 with degrees in Psychology and English. She has worked in the substance abuse field for the past 10 years as a counselor, case manager and most recently as the Coordinator for the Burlington Partnership. Working with adolescents in a substance abuse rehabilitation center and with addicted and mentally ill adults in the criminal justice system Mariah saw first hand the pain and constant struggle of those who suffer with substance abuse addiction and their loved ones. She is passionate about creating a community that provides youth and adults with the skills and environment to make healthy choices. Mariah and her husband live in Essex Junction with their two young boys, Noah and Sam, and their dog Quincey. They enjoy visiting local playgrounds in the summer and sledding hills in the winter. Patti Gannon has lived in Vermont for 9 years.  Before coming to BPHC, Patti was a Smoking Cessation Counselor for research studies at the UVM Department of Psychiatry for 9 years. She earned a BA from Bates College and an MA from Boston College and worked in higher education before entering the tobacco cessation and substance abuse prevention field.  Patti lives in Williston with her husband and three children. She enjoys running and keeps very busy driving her kids to all their activities.
